Higher Salaries Commission (Jurisdiction) Order (No 3) 1987

At Wellington this 5th day of October 1987

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Pursuant to section 13(1)(a) of the Higher Salaries Commission Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This order may be cited as the Higher Salaries Commission (Jurisdiction) Order (No 3) 1987.

    (2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

2 Corporations and bodies whose highest paid executive officers’ salaries and principal allowances are to be determined by Higher Salaries Commission
  • Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Higher Salaries Commission Act 1977 (as substituted by section 3 of the Higher Salaries Commission Amendment Act 1980) is hereby amended by omitting the following items:

    Licensing Trusts.

    The Totalisator Agency Board.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

Under section 12(1)(a)(ii) of the Higher Salaries Commission Act 1977, the Higher Salaries Commission has jurisdiction to consider and determine the salary of the highest paid executive officer of each of the corporations specified (either by name or class) in Schedule 1 of that Act and the salaries of such other officers of those corporations as the Commission thinks fit.

The order omits from that schedule the names of the following corporations:

  • (a) Licensing Trusts:

  • (b) The Totalisator Agency Board.
