These regulations are administered in the Department of Justice.
PURSUANT to section 11(1)(a) of the Status of Children Act 1969, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following regulations.
(1) These regulations may be cited as the Status of Children (Fees) Regulations 1995.
(2) These regulations shall come into force on the day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Act means the Status of Children Act 1969.
(1) There are hereby prescribed—
(a) For a search of any index kept under section 9(2) of the Act, $35:
(b) For the issue of a certified copy of any instrument, or duplicate or copy of any instrument, filed under section 9(1) of the Act, $35.
(2) No fee shall be payable for a certificate under paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section 9 of the Status of Children Act 1969 setting out the result of any search under paragraph (a) of that subsection.
Subclauses (1)(a) and (1)(b) were amended, as from 3 October 2001, by regulation 3 Status Of Children (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2001 (SR 2001/300) by substituting the expression “$35”
for the expression “$20”
.
The fees prescribed by regulation 2(1) of these regulations are inclusive of goods and services tax under the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.
The Status of Children (Fees) Regulations 1989 are hereby consequentially revoked.
