PURSUANT to section 1(3) of the Transport Amendment Act 1997, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order may be cited as the Transport Amendment Act 1997 Commencement Order 1997.

2 Commencement of section 3 of Transport Amendment Act 1997

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force on 1 September 1997 section 3 of the Transport Amendment Act 1997.

That section amends the definition of stationary vehicle offence in section 41A of the Transport Act 1962 to remove cross-references to specific regulations and allow the regulations themselves to specify just which offences are stationary vehicle offences.
