Valuers Amendment Regulations 1997

These regulations are administered in Valuation New Zealand.


PURSUANT to section 44 of the Valuers Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) These regulations may be cited as the Valuers Amendment Regulations 1997, and are part of the Valuers Regulations 19491 (the principal regulations).

    (2) These regulations come into force on 1 January 1998.

2 Fees
  • The principal regulations are amended by revoking Schedule 1 (as substituted by regulation 2 of the Valuers Regulations 1949, Amendment No 13), and substituting Schedule 1 set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

3 Revocation and savings
  • (1) The Valuers Regulations 1949, Amendment No 13 are consequentially revoked.

    (2) Notwithstanding subclause (1) and regulation 2, the fees payable for annual practising certificates and for annual registration for the year ending 31 December 1997 continue to be, respectively, $135 and $175.50.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which take effect on 1 January 1998, amend the Valuers Regulations 1949 by—

  • (a) Increasing from $405 to $415 the fee for applications for registration as a valuer; and

  • (b) Reducing from $135 to $112.50 the fee for annual practising certificates; and

  • (c) Increasing from $175.50 to $198 the annual registration fee.
