PURSUANT to section 56 of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This order may be cited as the Customs Export Prohibition Amendment Order 1997, and is part of the Customs Export Prohibition Order 1996 (SR 1996/233) (the principal order).

    (2) This order comes into force on 1 January 1998.

2 Prohibited copper exports
  • The principal order is amended by revoking clause 6.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 January 1998, revokes the prohibition on the exportation of copper waste and scrap, and copper bars, rods, ingots and profile classified in headings 7404 and 7407 of the Tariff of New Zealand.
