Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations revoke Schedule 1 of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Regulations 1994, and substitute a replacement Schedule 1, which is identical to the original. Schedule 1 sets out the form and colour of the labels to be issued in respect of films.

The reason for the amendment is that when the principal regulations were printed in the 1994 annual bound volume of regulations, the labels shown in Schedule 1 were printed in black and white, not in colour as they should have been. It is intended to reprint the regulations, and to include this reprint in the annual bound volume of regulations in order to ensure that a correct and complete version of the regulations is publicly available.

The regulations come into force on the day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 11 December 1997.
