PURSUANT to section 2A(5) of the Telecommunications Act 1987, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This order may be cited as the Telecommunications Network Operators Revocation Order 1998.

    (2) This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

2 Network operator status of New Zealand Post Limited revoked
  • The Telecommunications Network Operator (New Zealand Post Limited) Order 19931 is revoked.

3 Network operator status of Cyberstar of New Zealand Limited revoked

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, revokes the Telecommunications Network Operator (New Zealand Post Limited) Order 1993 and clause 4 of the Telecommunications Network Operators Order 1995.

The Telecommunications Network Operator (New Zealand Post Limited) Order 1993 states that New Zealand Post Limited is a network operator for the purposes of the Telecommunications Act 1987.

Clause 4 of the Telecommunications Network Operators Order 1995 states that Cyberstar of New Zealand Limited is a network operator for the purposes of the Telecommunications Act 1987.
