Summary Proceedings Amendment Regulations (No 2) 1998


Note

These regulations are administered in the Department for Courts.


PURSUANT to section 212 of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) These regulations may be cited as the Summary Proceedings Amendment Regulations (No 2) 1998, and are part of the Summary Proceedings Regulations 19581 (the principal regulations).

    (2) These regulations come into force on 1 July 1998.

2 Court fees
  • Schedule 2 of the principal regulations is amended by—

    • (a) Omitting from the second column of item 2 the expression 25, and substituting the expression 30:

    • (b) Omitting from the second column of item 6 the expression 140, and substituting the expression 150.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 1998, increase certain fees payable for criminal matters in District Courts.

The fee for filing a copy of a reminder notice in respect of an infringement offence is increased from $25 to $30.

The fee for an application for removal of a disqualification or for a partial exemption from a disqualification under the Transport Act 1962 is increased from $140 to $150.

The fees are inclusive of goods and services tax.
