Oamaru Licensing Trust Amendment Order 1998: revoked, on 1 August 2016, pursuant to clause 4 of the Oamaru Licensing Trust (Abolition of Wards) Order 2016 (LI 2016/141).

PURSUANT to section 209 of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989, His Excellency the Governor-General,—
Acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council; and
On the advice of the Minister of Justice,—
makes the following order.
This order may be cited as the Oamaru Licensing Trust Amendment Order 1998, and is part of the Oamaru Licensing Trust Order 19611 (the principal order).
This order comes into force on 20 August 1998.
The principal order is amended by revoking clause 4, and substituting the following clause:
For the purposes of elections of members of the Trust, the Trust district is divided into the 3 wards described in Schedule 2.
To avoid any doubt, a reference in Schedule 2 to a borough or a county or a riding is a reference to the borough or the county or the riding as constituted at the commencement of the principal order.
The principal order is amended by revoking clause 5, and substituting the following clause:
The Trust consists of 5 members, of whom—
Three are elected for Ward 1; and
One is elected for Ward 2; and
One is elected for Ward 3.
The principal order is amended by revoking clause 7, and substituting the following clause:
At every meeting of the Trust 3 members form a quorum.
The principal order is amended by revoking Schedule 2, and substituting Schedule 2 set out in the Schedule.

That part of the Papakaio Riding of the County of Waitaki within the Trust district:
That part of the Waiareka Riding of the County of Waitaki within the Trust district:
The Kakanui, Incholme, and Otepopo Ridings of the County of Waitaki.

The Moeraki Riding of the County of Waitaki:
That part of the Waihemo County within the Trust district:
The Borough of Waikouaiti:
The Hawkesbury, Merton, and Blueskin Ridings of the County of Waikouaiti.

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 20 August 1998, amends the Oamaru Licensing Trust Order 1961. It constitutes new wards for the Oamaru Licensing Trust District, and reduces the number of elected members of the Trust from 8 to 5.
The existing 5 wards of the Oamaru Licensing Trust District are reduced to 3 wards. Ward 1, which comprises the Borough of Oamaru, remains unchanged. The existing Wards 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been consolidated into 2 wards. Ward 1 will be represented by 3 members, and Wards 2 and 3 will each be represented by 1 member. The quorum required for meetings of the Trust has been reduced from 4 to 3.
