Transport (Measurement of Weight) Amendment Notice 1999

Pursuant to sections 2 and 218 of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Minister of Police gives the following notice.

Notice

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) This notice may be cited as the Transport (Measurement of Weight) Amendment Notice 1999, and is part of the Transport (Measurement of Weight) Notice 1997 (SR 1997/375) (the principal notice).

    (2) This notice comes into force on 1 March 1999.

2 Interpretation
  • Clause 2 of the principal notice is amended by revoking the definition of the term testing authority, and substituting the following definition:

    testing authority means any person referred to in section 147(2)(a) of the Land Transport Act 1998.

3 Approved weighing devices
  • Clause 3 of the principal notice is amended by revoking subclause (1), and substituting the following subclause:

    • (1) The weighing devices described in subclause (2) are approved for the purposes of recording or displaying the weight of a wheel, an axle, a group of axles, or a vehicle as required by the definition of the term weight in section 2(1) of the Land Transport Act 1998.
