This order is administered in the Ministry of Transport.
PURSUANT to section 1(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
(1) This order may be cited as the Land Transport (Commencement of Repeals) Order (No 2) 1999.
(2) This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
Clauses 3 and 5 and 13 of part 4 of Schedule 2 of the Land Transport Act 1998 come into force on 3 May 1999.

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force 28 days after notification in the Gazette, fixes 3 May 1999 for the repeal of—
•section 64 of the Transport Act 1962 (which requires certain vehicles, including vehicles carrying hazardous goods, to stop before proceeding over a railway level crossing); and
•sections 70E to 70K of that Act (which relate to the transport of hazardous goods); and
•sections 40(2), 41, 42, 44(1), 45, 47, 48, and 48A of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986 (which relate to certain matters concerning the issue of driver licences).
On that day, rules made under the Land Transport Act 1998 relating to the same matters will come into force.
