Transport Services Licensing Amendment Regulations 1999

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Transport.


PURSUANT to section 66 of the Transport Services Licensing Act 1989 and sections 167 and 168 of the Land Transport Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title and commencement
  • (1) These regulations may be cited as the Transport Services Licensing Amendment Regulations 1999, and are part of the Transport Services Licensing Regulations 19891 (the principal regulations).

    (2) These regulations come into force on 3 May 1999.

2 Amendments to Schedule 1
  • Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from column 3 of the Schedule the figure 80 in each place where it appears, and substituting in each case the figure 28.20.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations which come into force on 3 May 1999, amend the Transport Services Licensing Regulations 1989.

The regulations reduce, from $80 to $28.20 (inclusive of goods and services tax), the police vetting fee payable by applicants for a transport service licence in respect of each person specified in the application as a person to have control of the service. The same reduction is made to the police vetting fee payable for each person named in an application for approval of a taxi organisation as a responsible officer or a person to have control of the organisation, and to the vetting fees payable for notified changes to persons having control of a transport service or in responsible officers of an approved taxi organisation.
