This notice is administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 28OB of the Fisheries Act 1983, section 7(4) of the Fisheries Amendment Act 1995, and section 369(4) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after having regard to the matters specified in section 28D of the Fisheries Act 1983, makes the following notice.

Notice

1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Northland Scallop Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2000.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

3 Interpretation

In this notice, the term Northland scallop fishery has the meaning given to it in section 2(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996.

4 Total allowable commercial catch for Northland scallops reduced

The total allowable commercial catch for Northland scallops is reduced from 106.000 tonnes to 60.000 tonnes meatweight.

5 Revocation

The Fisheries (Northland Scallop Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 1998 (SR 1998/215) is revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, reduces the total allowable commercial catch for Northland scallops from 106.000 tonnes to 60.000 tonnes meatweight.
