Summary Proceedings Amendment Regulations 2000

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Justice.


PURSUANT to the Summary Proceedings Act 1957, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • (1) These regulations are the Summary Proceedings Amendment Regulations 2000.

    (2) In these regulations, the Summary Proceedings Regulations 19581 are called the principal regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 January 2001.

3 Revocation of forms 16 and 37
  • Forms 16 and 37 of Schedule 1 of the principal regulations are revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 January 2001, amend the Summary Proceedings Regulations 1958 by revoking forms 16 and 37 of Schedule 1. The forms revoked are a warrant of deliverance on grant of bail (form 16) and a warrant for arrest and committal of bailed appellant where he surrenders or where surety applies to be discharged (form 37). Those forms are no longer necessary as a result of the Bail Act 2000 coming into force on 1 January 2001.
