Electoral Amendment Regulations 2001


This notice is administered in the Ministry of Justice.

PURSUANT to the Electoral Act 1993, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • (1) These regulations are the Electoral Amendment Regulations 2001.

    (2) In these regulations, the Electoral Regulations 1996 (SR 1996/93) are called the principal regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Notice concerning exercise of Maori option
  • Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by revoking form 4, and substituting the form set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

Explanatory note

This not is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Electoral Regulations 1996 by substituting a new form 4 – the notice concerning the exercise of the Maori option.

The new form is written in both Maori and English. Also, the layout and design of the form has been changed.
