New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Amendment Act Commencement Order 2001

Pursuant to section 2 of the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Amendment Act 2000, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This is the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Amendment Act Commencement Order 2001.

    This Order was revoked, as from 1 July 2007, by section 60 Sports Anti-Doping Act 2006 (2006 No 58).

2 Commencement of New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Amendment Act 2000

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Amendment Act 2000 into force on 12 April 2001. That Act amends the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency Act 1994 to—

  • provide for circumstances where specified drugs or doping methods (or levels of them) that are otherwise banned for the purposes of the Act are not banned:

  • provide that positive test results cannot be overturned by irregularities in the sampling and testing procedures that do not affect the identity or integrity of the sample:

  • allow the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency to conduct out-of-competition testing of New Zealand competitors on behalf of an overseas anti-doping or sports organisation.
