Misuse of Drugs (Classification of Fantasy) Order Commencement Order 2002

This order is administered in the Ministry of Health.


Pursuant to section 4A(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 and a resolution of the House of Representatives made on 16 April 2002 in accordance with section 4A(3) of that Act, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order is the Misuse of Drugs (Classification of Fantasy) Order Commencement Order 2002.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the Misuse of Drugs (Classification of Fantasy) Order 2001 (which is an order that would have the effect of classifying the drug commonly known as fantasy as a class B controlled drug) into force on 31 May 2002.

A special procedure, required by section 4A of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, was undertaken in respect of this commencement order, as follows:

  • the Misuse of Drugs (Classification of Fantasy) Order 2001 was made on 10 December 2001:

  • a notice of motion to approve the order was lodged on 21 February 2002:

  • the order stood referred to the Health Committee of the House of Representatives (in accordance with an order of the House made on 16 November 2000):

  • the Health Committee reported to the House on 15 March 2002, recommending that the notice of motion be approved:

  • a motion to approve the order was moved on 28 March 2002 and agreed to on 16 April 2002.
