Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2002

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.


Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 11 July 2002.

3 Revocation of spent provisions
  • Regulations 4, 5A, 5B, and 6A of the principal regulations are revoked.

4 Offences
  • Regulation 16 of the principal regulations is amended—

    • (a) by omitting from subclause (1) the expression 5A, 5B,:

    • (b) by omitting from subclause (2) the expression 6A,.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 11 July 2002, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986 by revoking certain spent regulations relating to trawling in Foveaux Strait and to female rock lobsters.
