Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, to all whom these Presents shall come, Greeting!
Whereas by a Warrant under Our Sign Manual dated the Third day of November, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Five (SR 1995/244), We were pleased to institute and create a Medal designated
“The New Zealand Service Medal 1946–1949”:
And Whereas We deem it expedient that certain amendments should be made to the said Warrant to extend the eligibility for the Medal to include, in addition to those who served with the British Commonwealth Occupation Force, all persons who served in Japan in connection with the occupation of that country between 3 September 1945 and 31 March 1949.
Now therefore, We do declare that the rules and ordinances contained in the said Warrant shall be abrogated, cancelled, and annulled, and We, by these Presents for Us, Our Heirs and Successors, are pleased to make, ordain, and establish the following rules and ordinances in substitution for the same:
