The Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2002 is administered by the Ministry of Fisheries.


Pursuant to section 98 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Fisheries gives the following notice.

1 Title
  • This notice is the Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2002.

    This Notice was revoked, as from 24 August 2007, by clause 6 Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2007 (SR 2007/220).

2 Commencement
  • This notice comes into force on 13 December 2002.

3 Meaning of registers
  • In this notice, the registers means the Fishing Vessel Permit Register, the Permit Register, and the High Seas Permit Register.

4 Location of registers
  • The registers must be located at the office of Commercial Fisheries Services Limited at FishServe, Wellington Registry Office, 156-158 Victoria Street, Wellington.

    This Notice was revoked, as from 24 August 2007, by clause 6 Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2007 (SR 2007/220).

5 Hours of inspection
  • The registers must be open for inspection by the public from 8 am until 5 pm on any day except—

    • (a) a Saturday, a Sunday, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the Sovereign's birthday, and Labour Day; and

    • (b) a public holiday observed in Wellington; and

    • (c) a day in the period beginning on 25 December in a year and ending on 2 January in the following year; and

    • (d) if 1 January falls on a Friday, the following Monday; and

    • (e) if 1 January falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday and Tuesday.

    This Notice was revoked, as from 24 August 2007, by clause 6 Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2007 (SR 2007/220).

6 Revocation
  • The Notice Appointing the Places at Which the Registers Are to be Located and When They May be Inspected 2001 (No F203) dated 24 September 2001 appearing in Gazette No 132 at page 3381 is revoked.

    This Notice was revoked, as from 24 August 2007, by clause 6 Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2007 (SR 2007/220).
