Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2003


Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.


Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 31 March 2003.

3 Interpretation
  • (1) Regulation 2(1) of the principal regulations is amended by revoking the definition of Gisborne Concession Area.

    (2) Regulation 2(1) of the principal regulations is amended by revoking the definition of quota management area 3, and substituting the following definition:

    quota management area 3 means the Quota Management Area CRA3 — Gisborne as defined in Part 3 of the First Schedule of the Fisheries Act 1996

4 Concession relating to male spiny rock lobster
  • Regulation 14K(1) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words Gisborne Concession Area in each place where they occur, and substituting in each case the words quota management area 3

5 Processing and sale of Gisborne Concession Area male spiny rock lobster
  • The heading to regulation 14M of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words Gisborne Concession Area, and substituting the words quota management area 3.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 31 March 2003, amend the Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986. The amendments omit the definition of Gisborne Concession Area and substitute a new definition of quota management area 3.
