Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2003

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 31 March 2003.

3 Concession relating to female rock lobster
  • Regulation 5C(1) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words quota management area 8 (as defined in the Third Schedule to the Maori Fisheries Act 1989), and substituting the words Quota Management Area CRA8 - Southern (as defined in Part 3 of the First Schedule of the Fisheries Act 1996).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 31 March 2003, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986. The amendment omits from regulation 5C(1) reference to quota management area 8 (as defined in Schedule 3 to the Maori Fisheries Act 1989), and substitutes a reference to Quota Management Area CRA8 - Southern (as defined in Part 3 of the Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996).
