Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2003


Note

These regulations are administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.


Pursuant to section 88(1)(a) of the Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration Act 1995, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 September 2003.

3 Fees
  • (1) The Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from the third column of item 3 the expression 30.00, and substituting the expression 26.00.

    (2) The Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by omitting item 5, and substituting the following item:

    5Electronic printout of any document— 
     from years 1848 to 187426.00
     post 187420.00

    (3) The Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from the third column of items 6, 17, and 18 the expression 30.00, and substituting in each case the expression 26.00.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 September 2003, reduce from $30 to $26 (and in 1 case to $20) the fees payable for inspections of documents, electronic printouts of documents, certified copies of entries in registers, statements of recorded information about overseas deaths, and verification, when correct year given, of information contained in an entry.
