Weights and Measures Amendment Regulations 2003


Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Economic Development.


Pursuant to section 42 of the Weights and Measures Act 1987, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • (1) These regulations are the Weights and Measures Amendment Regulations 2003.

    (2) In these regulations, the Weights and Measures Regulations 19991 are called the principal regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 10 October 2003.

3 Fees
  • Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words $72 per hour, and substituting the words $125 per hour (inclusive of goods and services tax).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 10 October 2003, amend the Weights and Measures Regulations 1999.

Regulation 4 of those regulations requires a fee to be paid by a person who makes an application for the approval of any type of weight, measure, or weighing or measuring instrument under section 20 of the Weights and Measures Act 1987. These regulations increase the fee from $72 per hour (for each hour of work carried out by any person for the purpose of processing the application) to $125 per hour.
