Securities Markets Act Commencement Order 2004

This order is administered in the Ministry of Economic Development.


Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Securities Markets Amendment Act 2002, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order is the Securities Markets Act Commencement Order 2004.

2 Commencement of subpart 2 of Part 2 of Securities Markets Act 1988
3 Revocation
  • The Securities Markets Act Commencement Order 2003 (SR 2003/381) is revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Securities Markets Act 1988 into force on 3 May 2004. That subpart was inserted into the Securities Markets Act 1988 by section 16 of the Securities Markets Amendment Act 2002, and relates to the disclosure of relevant interests by the directors and officers of public issuers.

This order revokes and replaces the Securities Markets Act Commencement Order 2003 in order to change the date on which subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Securities Markets Act 1988 comes into force.
