Traffic Amendment Regulations 2004


Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Transport.


Pursuant to sections 167 and 218 of the Land Transport Act 1998, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • (1) These regulations are the Traffic Amendment Regulations 2004.

    (2) In these regulations, the Traffic Regulations 19761 are called the principal regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 5 April 2004.

3 Speed limits
  • Regulation 21(14) of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after the words section 52 of the Act, the words before the date of the commencement of section 4 of the Transport Amendment Act 1997 (5 April 2004).

4 Minimum-speed lanes
  • Regulation 25(2) of the principal regulations is amended by—

    • (a) omitting the words subclause (3) of this regulation, and substituting the words any rule ; and

    • (b) omitting the words subclause (1) of this regulation, and substituting the words any rule.

5 Revocations

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 5 April 2004, amend the Traffic Regulations 1976. The amendments accommodate the making of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001), which also comes into force on 5 April 2004.
