Revocation of Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Quota) Regulations 2000 Order 2004

This order is administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.


Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, by this order, which comes into force on 1 October 2004, revokes the Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Quota) Regulations 2000 (SR 2000/79).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order revokes the Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Quota) Regulations 2000, as a consequence of southern bluefin tuna coming within the quota management system on 1 October 2004.

The reporting and recordkeeping requirements for southern bluefin tuna catch taken in the high seas, currently in regulation 8 of those regulations, are to be incorporated into the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.
