Pursuant to section 150 of the Immigration Act 1987, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • (1) These regulations are the Immigration Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2004.

    (2) In these regulations, the Immigration Regulations 19991 are called the principal regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 4 April 2005.

3 Application for residence visa
  • Regulation 4(1)(g) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression 12 years, and substituting the expression 11 years.

4 Application for residence permit by temporary permit holder or exempt person
  • Regulation 10(1)(g) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression 12 years, and substituting the expression 11 years.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 4 April 2005, amend the Immigration Regulations 1999 to reduce from 12 to 11 years of age the age from which chest X-rays are required for persons applying for residence visas and permits.
