Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force 28 days after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Other restrictions relating to Paterson Inlet
  • Regulation 5AA of the principal regulations is amended by revoking subclause (2), and substituting the following subclause:

    • (2) A person contravenes this subclause if the person, in using rock lobster pots in breach of subclause (1), uses—

      • (a) 3 pots; or

      • (b) 4 pots.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force 28 days after their notification in the Gazette, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991 (the principal regulations) by providing that regulation 5AA(2) of the principal regulations is contravened if a person uses 3 or 4 rock lobster pots within Paterson Inlet.
