Note

Changes authorised by section 17C of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989 have been made in this eprint.

This order is administered in the Ministry of Justice.

Pursuant to section 32 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975, Her Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
  • This order is the Ombudsmen (Schedule 1) Order 2004.

2 Commencement
  • This order comes into force on 1 November 2004.

3 Part 1 of Schedule 1 of Ombudsmen Act 1975 amended
  • (1) Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975 is amended by omitting the item relating to the Ministry of Housing, and the item relating to the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

    (2) Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975 is amended by inserting, in its appropriate alphabetical order, the following item, The Department of Building and Housing.

Diane Morcom,

Clerk of the Executive Council.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 November 2004, amends Schedule 1 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975 by omitting the reference to the Ministry of Youth Affairs, and replacing the reference to the Ministry of Housing with a reference to the Department of Building and Housing.

The reference to the Ministry of Youth Affairs is omitted to reflect the abolition of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the transfer of its functions to the Ministry of Social Development in October 2003.

The reference to the Department of Building and Housing puts into effect the Government's decision to change the name of the Ministry of Housing to the Department of Building and Housing as of 1 November 2004.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 14 October 2004.
