Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Stockholm Convention) Amendment Act Commencement Order 2004

Pursuant to section 2 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Stockholm Convention) Amendment Act 2003, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

  • This order is the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Stockholm Convention) Amendment Act Commencement Order 2004.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Stockholm Convention) Amendment Act 2003 into force on 23 December 2004. The Act implements in New Zealand's domestic law the Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants done at Stockholm in May 2001 and the Annexes to the Convention.
