Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation (Liability to Pay or Contribute to Cost of Treatment) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2004


These regulations are administered in the Department of Labour.

Pursuant to section 324 of the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act 2001, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 April 2005.

3 Medical practitioners' costs
  • Regulation 13(2)(a)(ii) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression $26.00, and substituting the expression $32.00.

4 Medical practitioners' and nurses' costs for combined treatment
  • Regulation 15(2)(a)(ii) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression $29.00, and substituting the expression $35.00.

5 Schedule amended
  • The principal regulations are amended by omitting from the Schedule the items relating to Radiologists' costs, and substituting the items set out in the Schedule to these regulations.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2005, amend the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation (Liability to Pay or Contribute to Cost of Treatment) Regulations 2003.

The amendments increase the amount payable for a claimant who is 6 years old or over as follows:

  • for consultations for ACC treatment with a medical practitioner, the payment is increased from $26.00 to $32.00:

  • for combined consultations for ACC treatment with a medical practitioner and a nurse, the payment is increased from $29.00 to $35.00.

The amounts payable for radiology services for ACC treatment are increased by approximately 44%.
