Customs and Excise (Motor Spirits) Amendment Act Commencement Order 2005

Pursuant to section 2(2) and (3) of the Customs and Excise (Motor Spirits) Amendment Act 2005, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

2 Commencement of Part 2 and Schedule of Customs and Excise (Motor Spirits) Amendment Act 2005

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings Part 2 and the Schedule of the Customs and Excise (Motor Spirits) Amendment Act 2005 into force on 1 April 2005.

Part 2 and the Schedule amend the Customs and Excise Act 1996 by increasing, by 5 cents per litre (excluding goods and services tax), the rates of excise duty and excise-equivalent duty on motor spirits.
