Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Amendment Regulations 2005


Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Transport.


Pursuant to section 167 of the Land Transport Act 1998, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 11 March 2005.

3 Schedule 2 amended
  • Item 2 in the first column of Schedule 2 of the principal regulations is amended by revoking, in the second column, the following items:

    • (a) 6.5(1) (which relates to the assignment of demerit points for parking a vehicle on a pedestrian crossing); and

    • (b) 6.5(2)(a) (which relates to the assignment of demerit points for parking a vehicle within 6 m of a driver's approach to a pedestrian crossing); and

    • (c) 6.5(2)(b) (which relates to the assignment of demerit points for parking a vehicle in a signed/marked area on a driver's approach to a pedestrian crossing).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 11 March 2005, amend the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999. The amendments revoke 3 items relating to the assignment of demerit points for certain parking offences set out in item 2 of Schedule 2 of the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999.
