Fisheries (Toothfish Catch Documentation Scheme) Amendment Regulations 2005


Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.


Pursuant to section 297(1)(o) of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Interpretation
  • Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from the definition of New Zealand catch document the words Foreign Affairs and Trade, and substituting the word Fisheries.

4 Duty of master of registered New Zealand ship when landing or transhipping toothfish
  • Regulation 6 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words Foreign Affairs and Trade's, and substituting the word Fisheries'.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Fisheries (Toothfish Catch Documentation Scheme) Regulations 2000 to substitute the references in regulations 4 and 6 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade with references to the Ministry of Fisheries. This reflects the Ministry of Fisheries having taken over the administration of the toothfish catch documentation scheme.
