Explanatory memorandum

This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members Determination (No 3) 2005 ( the principal determination).

This determination, with effect from 29 September 2005, adjusts the annual salary of the Chair of the Northland Regional Council to take into account the purchase of a new vehicle for the Chair's full private use.

This determination, with effect from 20 October 2005, provides for a Chair car with full private use for the Chair of the Otago Regional Council, with a consequent adjustment to the Chair's annual salary.

This determination, with effect from 1 September 2005, provides for a Mayoral car with full private use for the Mayor of Rotorua, with a consequent adjustment to the Mayor's annual salary.

This determination, with effect from 1 July 2005,—

  • adjusts the salaries of elected members of the Gisborne District Council, Southland District Council, Waimate District Council, and Wellington City Council. The figures for those salaries that are set out in the principal determination were based on the remuneration pool for the 2004/05 year. The adjustment brings those salaries into line with the remuneration pool for the 2005/06 year:

  • adjusts the salaries of elected members of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and its community boards to provide a more equitable distribution of the remuneration pool.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
