These regulations, which come into force on 14 June 2006, relate to actions taken under Part 6 of the Biosecurity Act 1993 in an attempt to eradicate the southern saltmarsh mosquito (Ochlerotatus camptorhynchus) from the Coromandel Peninsula.

Those actions were exempted from the provisions of Part 3 of the Resource Management Act 1991 under an exemption granted under section 7A(1) of the Biosecurity Act on 17 May 2006. The exemption expired on 14 June 2006. These regulations continue the exemption.

These regulations will, unless sooner revoked, continue in force until 14 June 2008.
