Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Amendment Regulations 2006

  • Preamble

    At Wellington this 28th day of August 2006

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Amendment Regulations 2006.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 October 2006.

3 Principal regulations amended
4 Vessels required to carry and operate automatic location communicators
  • Regulation 3(1) is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (e):

    • (ea) New Zealand fishing vessels of 28 metres or less in length that are used at any time during a fishing year in fishing for deepwater clam; and.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2006, amend the Fisheries (Satellite Vessel Monitoring) Regulations 1993.

The amendment requires automatic location communicators to be carried by vessels used to fish for deepwater clam.
