Standards Amendment Act 2006 Commencement Order 2006

    At Wellington this 16th day of October 2006

Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Standards Amendment Act 2006, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

  • This order is the Standards Amendment Act 2006 Commencement Order 2006.

2 Commencement of section 6 of Standards Amendment Act 2006

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 1 December 2006, section 6 of the Standards Amendment Act 2006. That provision amends section 4 of the Standards Act 1988.

The amendment to section 4 provides that the Minister of Commerce must appoint members of the Standards Council from nominations made by nominating bodies as set out in regulations.

Until the amendment to section 4 came into force under this order, the nominating bodies were set out in section 4(2) of the Standards Act 1988.
