    At Wellington this 19th day of February 2007

Pursuant to section 2(1) of the Protected Objects Amendment Act 2006, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

  • This order is the Protected Objects Amendment Act 2006 Commencement Order 2007.

2 Commencement of section 14 of Protected Objects Amendment Act 2006

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 1 May 2007, section 14 of the Protected Objects Amendment Act 2006, which inserts new sections 10A to 10F into the Protected Objects Act 1975. The new sections implement New Zealand's international obligations under the UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property (1970) and the UNIDROIT Convention on Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects (1995).
