Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2007

  • Preamble

    At Wellington this 26th day of February

Pursuant to section 297(1)(h) of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2007.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.

3 Principal regulations amended
4 Use of codes for certain entries
  • Regulation 37(a) is amended by inserting , or, in the case of oreos, in table 21 after in table 17.

5 Part 1 of Schedule 3 amended
  • (1) Table 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 3 is amended by omitting the items relating to oreo.

    (2) Part 1 of Schedule 3 is amended by adding the table set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

6 Part 2 of Schedule 3 amended
  • (1) Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by inserting **** after Oreo.

    (2) Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by adding the following note:

    • **** On monthly harvest returns, the code OEO must be used in conjunction with the appropriate quota management area.

2In this table, MHR means the monthly harvest returns required to be in form 3 of Schedule 2.
3In this table, the quota management areas are the areas defined in Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001 by—

  • inserting, in regulation 37(a), a reference to the new Table 21:

  • omitting, from Table 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 3, the items relating to oreo:

  • adding, to Part 1 of Schedule 3, a new Table 21 (which specifies the fishstock codes for oreos):

  • inserting **** after Oreo, in Part 2 of Schedule 3, and adding a corresponding note to that Part.
