Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Amendment Regulations 2007

  • Preamble

    At Wellington this 26th day of February 2007

Pursuant to section 36(1) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Energy (having satisfied the requirements of section 36(2) of that Act), makes the following regulations.

1 Title
  • These regulations are the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Amendment Regulations 2007.

2 Commencement
  • These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.

4 Schedule 2 amended
  • Schedule 2 is amended by omitting the items relating to Clothes washing machines and Dishwashers and substituting the following items:

    Clothes washing machinesAS/NZS 2040.2:2005: Performance of household electrical appliances—Clothes washing machines—Energy efficiency labelling requirementsAS/NZS 2040.1:2005: Performance of household electrical appliances—Clothes washing machines—Methods for measuring performance, energy and water consumption
    DishwashersAS/NZS 2007.2:2005: Performance of household electrical appliances—Dishwashers—Energy efficiency labelling requirementsAS/NZS 2007.1:2005: Performance of household electrical appliances—Dishwashers—Methods for measuring performance, energy and water consumption.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the items relating to Clothes washing machines and Dishwashers in Schedule 2 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002.

The amendments update the mandatory energy performance labelling requirements for these product classes to incorporate matters in relation to the energy use of standby functions of the products.
