Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the Social Security (Income Exemption: Home-based Care) Regulations 2004.

The amendment raises the amount that is declared not to be the income of a caregiver who receives payment for providing home-based care, arranged by an arranger, in accordance with the code of practice set out in the Schedule of the Education (Home-based Care) Order 1992. The amount is raised to reflect a 2.63% increase in the New Zealand Consumers Price Index (All Groups) from the December 2005 quarter to the December 2006 quarter.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 8 March 2007.
