This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2008, amend the items relating to—

  • household refrigerating appliances, single-phase ducted air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps, single-phase non-ducted air conditioners and heat pumps, and three-phase air conditioners and heat pumps in Schedule 1 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002; and

  • household refrigerating appliances and single-phase non-ducted air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps in Schedule 2 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002.

The amendments re-incorporate by reference the minimum energy performance standards and testing standards relevant to the energy-using products specified above to account for recent revisions to these standards. These standards apply in the form that they existed on 1 April 2008.
