Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 26 June 2008, revoke regulations 29, 73, 90R, 90S, and 90ZD of the Traffic Regulations 1976, which have been replaced by provisions in the Land Transport Rules and the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999.

The revocation of regulation 73 is a consequence of individual subclauses being revoked previously. The revocation of regulations 90R, 90S, and 90ZD is a consequence of Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment 2007 (35001/3) coming into force and the amendments made by the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Amendment Regulations 2008.
