Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, revokes the Law Practitioners Fees Regulations 1978, which ceased to have effect on 1 April 1983.

On 1 April 1983, the Law Practitioners Act 1955 was repealed by the Law Practitioners Act 1982 and since that date admission fees, practising fees, restoration fees, and the fee payable for the issue of a practising certificate have been fixed under the latter Act by the Council of the New Zealand Law Society with the approval of the Minister of Justice.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

Date of notification in Gazette: 3 July 2008.

This order is administered by the Ministry of Justice.
