Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
These regulations are the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2008.
These regulations come into force on 1 October 2008.
These regulations amend the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 2001.
(1) Schedule 1 is amended by inserting the items set out in Part 1 of the Schedule of these regulations after the item relating to regulation 2C under the heading “Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/224)”

(2) Schedule 1 is amended by inserting the item set out in Part 2 of the Schedule of these regulations after the item relating to regulation 4A under the heading “Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/224)”

(3) Schedule 1 is amended by adding the item set out in Part 3 of the Schedule of these regulations under the heading “Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/224)”
.
(4) Schedule 1 is amended by inserting the item set out in Part 4 of the Schedule of these regulations after the item relating to regulation 6E under the heading “Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/225)”

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2008, amend the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 2001.
The regulations amend Schedule 1 of the principal regulations by providing infringement offences and penalties for requirements under—
the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 in relation to blue cod; and
the Fisheries (Challenger Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 and the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 in relation to the use of a set net in certain waters, other than a flat fish set net during a specified period.
