(1) A product certification body may certify the compliance of a building method or product with a provision of the Building Code only if that building method or product and that provision are within the scope of its accreditation determined by the product certification accreditation body.
(2) For the purpose of assisting the product certification accreditation body in its determination of an appropriate scope of accreditation, an applicant for accreditation as a product certification body must—
(a) specify the building methods or products that the applicant wishes to certify; and
(b) specify the provisions of the Building Code in relation to which the applicant wishes to certify each building method or product.
