Pursuant to clause 6 of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002 and to section 19 of the Remuneration Authority Act 1977, the Remuneration Authority makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).
This determination is the Local Government Elected Members (2008/09) Determination 2008 Amendment Determination 2008.
This determination comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2008/09) Determination 2008.
(1) The item relating to Christchurch City Council in Schedule 2 is amended with effect from 4 September 2008 by omitting “153,710”
and substituting “148,908”
.
(2) The item relating to Gore District Council in Schedule 2 is amended with effect from 1 July 2008 by omitting “57,347”
and substituting “52,507”
.
(3) The item relating to Mayoral car in the item relating to Gore District Council in Schedule 2 is amended with effect from 1 July 2008 by omitting “N/A”
and substituting “Full private use”
.
(4) The item relating to Tauranga City Council is amended with effect from 1 July 2008 by omitting “114,074”
and substituting “114,345”
.
(5) The item relating to Waitakere City Council in Schedule 2 is amended with effect from 9 July 2008 by omitting “134,917”
and substituting “135,105”
.
(6) Schedule 2 is amended with effect from 27 August 2008 by omitting the item relating to Whangarei District Council and substituting the following item:

This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2008/09) Determination 2008. Although the determination comes into force only on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, the amendments all have retrospective effect.
The reasons for the amendments are as follows:
