Regulation by clause

4 Umupuia Beach closed in respect of cockles for 2 years
  • (1) No person may take cockles from Umupuia Beach while this notice is in force.

    (2) In this clause,—

    cockle means the mollusc Austrovenus stutchburyi

    Umupuia Beach means that area of New Zealand fisheries waters that lies within an area bounded by a line that—

    • (a) commences at the mean high-water springs at Te Puea at the western end of the beach known as Umupuia Beach (at 36°53.77′S and 175°05.82′E); then

    • (b) proceeds in a straight line in a south-easterly direction to Whakakaiwhara Point (at 36°54.05′S and 175°05.88′E); then

    • (c) proceeds along the mean high-water springs to the point of commencement.
